A family was in urgent need of a new apartment in a city with a severe housing shortage. They had been looking for months, but everything was either too expensive or in poor condition. With their lease ending, they faced the prospect of having nowhere to go.
They wrote to the Rebbe and opened the Igros Kodesh. The letter they found carried a blessing for a spacious and bright dwelling, and mentioned a neighbourhood whose name closely matched a street not far from where they were searching.
They decided to walk down that street, even though there were no rental signs to be seen. While walking, they fell into conversation with an elderly man sitting on a porch. When they mentioned they were looking for a place, he told them that his neighbour had recently passed away and the family was looking for a quiet tenant who could move in immediately.
The apartment was spacious, bright and within their budget, and it had never been advertised. The family felt they had been led to their new home at the exact moment it became available.
