Six years after her initial recovery from meningitis, Helen S. was faced with a new and daunting challenge when she was diagnosed with a severe form of leukemia. The treatment required aggressive chemotherapy, which carried heavy risks for a woman of her age. During her stay in the hospital, she also suffered a mild stroke that severely affected her ability to speak and move.

Her children immediately sought the Rebbe's blessing through the Igros Kodesh. They received an answer in Volume 22, Page 170, which offered both a blessing and specific advice. Strengthening their faith, the daughter also gave her mother water from the Rebbe's Mikveh before the chemotherapy sessions began.

Remarkably, Helen suffered none of the typical harsh side effects associated with chemotherapy. As the family updated the Rebbe on her progress, they received a second answer in Volume 18, Page 160. In this letter, the Rebbe expressed pleasure at hearing about the improvement in her health and noted that it should go from good to even better.

Within a short period, Helen's speech returned to normal and her leukemia went into remission. Today, she leads a normal life, walking and speaking without assistance. Her recovery stood as a testament to the power of the blessings received through the holy letters.
